Description

Aqueduct of Santa Clara is one of the most remarkable structures in Vila do Conde. Built between the 17th and 18th centuries, this monumental aqueduct was used to supply water to the Monastery of Santa Clara. Stretching over approximately 4 km and featuring more than 990 arches, its architecture is inspired by the Renaissance style. The aqueduct stands out for the grandeur and harmony of its arches, crossing both the city and the surrounding fields. This monument is a testament to the engineering and construction techniques of the era, making it one of the most important historical landmarks in the region.
