Igreja da Misericórdia in Aljezur is a significant example of religious architecture in the region, dating back to the 16th century. Located in the historic center, it was built to support the charitable work of the Misericórdia brotherhood, which was dedicated to helping the poor and sick. The exterior of the church is simple, but the interior showcases Baroque influences, with ornate altars and sacred images of historical value. The church has undergone several renovations, especially after the 1755 earthquake.
