We then proceed to the Ponte Antiga (Roman Bridge) of Tavira, one of the city's most iconic historical landmarks, connecting the two sides of Tavira. Next, we visit Largo da Misericórdia, a square in the heart of the city. A few more steps take us to the Castelo de Tavira, a historic fortification that offers stunning panoramic views over the city and the Gilão River, built by the Moors and later rebuilt by the Christians. It’s time to recharge, and Restaurante O Castelo offers us a quality dining experience, with a cozy atmosphere and a prime location. After lunch, we head to Tavira Island. To get there, we make our way to Cais das Quatro Águas, the departure point for boats that connect Tavira to nearby islands.
