What to expect on this Tour?

This tour begins with a visit to the Roman Villa of Montinho das Laranjeiras, a fascinating archaeological site that transports us back to Roman times, where we can observe the remains of an ancient residence by the Guadiana River. We then head to the Pontal Viewpoint, which offers spectacular views over the river and the surrounding landscape, an ideal spot to capture the natural beauty of the region. Next, we visit Alcoutim Castle, an impressive medieval fortification that provides an incredible perspective of the border between Portugal and Spain, along with a museum that unveils the history of local defenses. The next stop is the Archaeological Museum Nucleus, where we discover ancient artifacts that tell the story of Alcoutim from prehistory to the Middle Ages. To recharge, we have lunch at Restaurante O Contrabandista, known for its delicious traditional Algarve cuisine, in a picturesque location near the Guadiana River that recalls the smuggling history of the region. Finally, we end the day with a moment of relaxation at the Pego Fundo River Beach, a beautiful freshwater beach surrounded by nature, perfect for unwinding and enjoying the tranquility before concluding the tour.
