Castelo de Portalegre, situated on Rua Luís Barahona, is a historic monument dating back to the 13th century, built during the reign of King Afonso III. This medieval fortification played a key role in defending the region throughout numerous battles in Portugal's history. Although some parts of the castle are in ruins, its walls and towers provide panoramic views of the city and the surrounding countryside.
