About Aqueduto da Água de Prata

Aqueduto da Água de Prata, located on Rua do Muro in Évora, is a monumental 16th-century engineering structure. Built in 1531 by Francisco de Arruda, the aqueduct was designed to transport water from sources located about 18 km away. Along its path, visitors can see impressive arches, and in some parts of the city, the aqueduct merges with urban buildings. It stands as one of Évora's most remarkable historical landmarks, preserving the city's medieval and Renaissance heritage.
